The discovery of fullerenes in 1985 has opened a new area on carbon based nanostructures and subsequent developments on large-scale production of C60 using arc discharge process have led to discovery of another carbon family, so-called carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Carbon nanotubes attract much attention and significant progress has been achieved on the understanding of their chemic-physical properties.
The scope of the symposium includes
• Synthetic methods
• Electronic structures
• Optical and thermal properties
• Device fabrications and applications
• Related composites.
Abstracts should be submitted electronically through website of IUMRS-ICA 2011, and questions and inquiries should be sent to the symposium organizers.
