Light metals have made important contributions to automotive, aerospace and lightweight sectors for 3C (computer, communication and consumer electronic) products. Many new alloys and advanced manufacturing processes of these light metals have been recently developed. Their excellent material’s performance and advanced processing will extend widely the applications in various fields. The light metals covered in this symposium are mainly Magnesium, Aluminum and Titanium alloys. The focus will be process innovation, alloy development, performance characterization and engineering applications related to these light metals.
Symposium Topics
•Primary production technologies
•Recycling and environmental issues
•Alloy development
•Phase transformations
•Product manufacturing processes
•Mechanical and physical properties
•Welding and joining
•Corrosion and surface finishing
•Designs and applications
Abstracts should be submitted electronically through website of IUMRS-ICA 2011, and questions and inquiries should be sent to the symposium organizers.
